The County Attorney's Office represents the interests of County Government. It's attorneys practice in virtually every substantive area of civil law, but do not practice criminal law. Individuals in need of legal representation in criminakl matters should contact the Dade County Bar Association for private lawyer referrals, or the Public Defender's Office.
The Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office is responsible for prosecuting crimes. This includes filing criminal charges, subpoenas to appear in criminal matters, etc. They may be contacted at 305-547-0100.
Court Cases
You can search for court cases on the Clerk of Courts website. You may search for criminal cases by case number, state case number, citation or police number, defendant, and jail number.
In addition to criminal charges such as felonies and misdemeanors, the system also includes civil infractions and municipal ordinance violations that are not considered criminal offenses.
